The salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience, with an anticipated starting range of $82,000-$95,000 annually. Position Overview
As the Technology and Project Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the systems, tools, and resources that help the League serve its members every day. You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team to advance projects, maintain core technology, and support the data and systems that keep the League running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, likes solving problems, and wants to be part of a mission-driven environment where your work truly matters to Wisconsin municipalities.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Resource Support~30%
Support the development and delivery of member resources, toolkits, and educational materials.
Assist with planning and coordinating virtual and in-person events.
Help keep core member resources updated, organized, and accessible.
Engage in process improvement activities that reduce administrative burden.
Member Information System(Database) & Website Support ~ 40%
Maintain data quality and updates in the League’s iMIS member system, including audits, election contact updates, and support tickets with integration and software vendors.
Implement integration between platforms- iMIS, Learning Management System, Website, Financial system, etc.
Help safeguard member and organizational data and assist with file storage and compliance needs.
Assist with routine updates, content edits, and improvements to the League’s website.
Technology & SystemsCoordination ~ 15%
Participate in the development of and implementation of the League’s technology roadmap
Serve as an internal point of contact for everyday software, hardware, and connectivity questions from staff.
Support office, conference room, and VoIP technology and coordinate with IT Managed Service Provider (JAVIS) when specialized support is needed.
Provide basic troubleshooting, triage issues, and escalate when appropriate.
Member & Event Engagement~15%
Support communications, conferences, and outreach efforts in partnership with League staff.
Assist with registration, logistics, and preparation of materials for member events.
Provide general support to the League’s administrative team to ensure a smooth member experience.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, communications, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience coordinating projects or multi-step initiatives.
Experience supporting technology, databases, websites, and common office systems.
Technical Skills
An intermediate experience and interest in leveraging emerging technologies (AI)
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, cloud storage platforms, and online meeting tools.
Comfort working in a website content management system (CMS) and making content changes and low-level programmatic changes.
Ability to troubleshoot common hardware/software issues and work with vendors when needed.
Experience working in data systems (entry, audits, reporting, automation).
Professional & Communication Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, mission-driven team environment.
Customer-service mindset, especially when supporting staff and member needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
Experience in a nonprofit, association, government, or membership-based organization.
Familiarity with municipal government operations.
Prior experience with:
AMS/CRM systems (iMIS experience is a plus)
CMS platforms or basic HTML
Supporting hybrid meetings or office technology
IT, telecom, or software vendor coordination
Event registration systems or event logistics
Technology & Innovation
Experience improving workflows with automation, AI, or digital tools.
Experience maintaining digital assets, storage structures, and compliance documentation.
Soft Skills
Ability to analyze and suggest improvements for internal processes.
Comfort adapting to evolving systems, technology, and team needs.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Team and Supervision:?
This position is part of a team comprised of administrative, events, and communications staff and reports to the Director of Events, Marketing, and Communications.?This position does not currently have supervisory responsibilities.
