Starting Salary: $57,333–$62,741 (depending on experience)
About this Position
The Group Sales Manager coordinates all aspects of selling Edmond to groups that will utilize local facilities/lodging. They meet with planners, ensure groups have necessary resources, research new market opportunities, and develop sales strategies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Broad knowledge of sales, marketing, communications, and related fields (equal to a college degree)
5 to 7 years of related experience and/or training
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Responsibilities
Develop and implement an annual sales plan to solicit event organizers to use Edmond facilities
Identify and develop qualified leads from external targeted market segments
Oversee the Visit Edmond grant and sponsorship program
Collect and process invoices, manage the budget, and coordinate purchase orders and payments
Communicate with and visit hotels, vacation homes, and other facilities in Edmond
Connect with businesses to sell advertising annually in publications
Collaborate with strategic partners to create and implement packages that promote Edmond
Design functional itineraries that market Edmond as a destination for visitors
Research print and digital advertising options
Attend and actively network at functions of professional organizations
Make outside sales calls to meeting planners, travel & industry trade shows, and other sales groups
Maintain data relating to all sales efforts, leads, and correspondence
Necessary Skills
Strong organizational and customer service skills
Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as required
Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
