The Editor of Payroll Information Resources researches, writes, and produces federal and state payroll compliance content for the American Payroll Association (APA) and its affiliated companies. This position is responsible for translating complex laws into educational publications and reference materials to be produced into print and digital form. The successful candidate is a self-motivated individual with the aptitude to work in a deadline-driven, results-oriented environment.

Researches, writes, and produces state compliance content for APA publications, including PayState Update.
Assists with tracking of federal and state legislation and industry news developments.
Updates sections of The Payroll Source and APA’s Guide to State Payroll Laws as assigned, reviews drafts.
Updates course materials for APA programs, including the Payroll Issues for Multi-State Employers and Local Income Tax Compliance courses.
Assists team with updating Guide to Global Payroll Management on a biennial basis, focusing on the country summaries.
Proofreads materials and copy, website content, product and services descriptions, and other marketing copy to detect and correct spelling, accuracy, and syntax errors.
Updates print and web reference materials.
Participates in APA’s Government Relations Task Force (GRTF) subcommittee meetings.
Maintains industry knowledge by attending training events and assesses how course materials may be updated based on attendee questions and how the course books are used by instructors.
Reviews annual updates for APA’s online payroll training platform(s), as assigned.

Broad knowledge and understanding of federal and state payroll laws and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal requirements through writing and in-person presentations.
Ability to work nights, weekends, or extended hours.
