We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Instructional Designer to manage, oversee, and support the College’s educational strategy. The Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing and developing e-learning solutions that support education initiatives. The Senior Instructional Designer will utilize advanced instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning assets for web-based training. The Senior Instructional Designer will work with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to design and develop talent development interventions that incorporate best practices of instructional design. The incumbent will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and evaluating effective learning programs and materials to meet the educational needs of our constituents. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to create engaging and impactful educational experiences that align with our organization's mission and goals.

ACSM is a hybrid workplace. This position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The incumbent must live within driving distance of the Indianapolis office and be willing and able to drive to the office occasionally/on a frequency to be determined.
Paid relocation is not offered for this position.
This position is a Pay Grade 6 with a range of $85,000-$105,000. Only those exceeding the requirements for the position will be offered at the top range for the position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum Development:
Design and develop short-term and long-term curriculum plans for various educational programs offered by the College.
Ensure that programs are developed and planned in response to the needs of the target audience
Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze educational needs and determine appropriate instructional strategies and content.
Create future iteration plans for updates and advancement to the deliverables.
Continual focus on the needs of the diversity of roles and the modern learning environment that is subject to continual change respect to continuous improvement and learning asset design and delivery.
Instructional Design:
Apply instructional design principles to create effective e-learning/asynchronous experiences, ensuring content is clear, concise, and aligned with learning objectives.
Lead the design and development of education, and total course materials for participants, including learner guides, handouts, facilitator guides, performance exercises, evaluations, activities, job aids, and all other required materials.
Utilize adult learning theories and instructional design models to design and deliver engaging content.
Create engaging instructional materials, including interactive assessments, multimedia elements, and supporting documentation.
Project Management:
Lead project management for multiple projects, managing stakeholders and subject matter experts, building timelines and workflows for a sequence of deliverables to meet assigned deadlines.
Oversee the complete instructional design process, from needs analysis to evaluation, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality education.
Support coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including instructors, subject matter experts, and technology vendors, to ensure successful project execution.
In collaboration with the Education Manager, monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet project goals and objectives.
Learning Technology:
Stay updated on the latest learning technologies and tools to enhance instructional design and delivery.
Collaborate with Technology and Operations and external vendors to maintain learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant technologies.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
Develop assessment strategies and evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of educational programs.
Collect and analyze data on learner performance and satisfaction to make data-driven improvements to instructional design and delivery.
Conduct regular needs assessments and stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in instructional design and adult education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree or bachelor's degree, certification in Instructional Design, with equivalent experience in instructional design, training and development, or closely related field.
A least 6 years successful, diverse work experience in an instructional design role.
Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and project management.
