Summary
Reporting directly to and working under the supervision of the SVP & General Counsel, the Vice President, Programming & Content, works closely with other Society staff and collaborative partners to develop, facilitate, and maintain national and regional programming, content, and research, consistent with the education, collaboration, and advocacy aspects of the Society’s mission.
Position Overview
With the SVP & General Counsel, develops annual and long-term plans for the Society’s substantive programs, key surveys and other research projects, and reports.
Develops, coordinates, facilitates, and executes substantive programming including webinars, roundtables, and discussion groups on core and emerging topics consistent with member priorities and interests, collaborative relationships, organizational partnership agreements, and other Society plans and initiatives.
Develops, coordinates, and drafts or facilitates drafting and publication of key research and reports with collaborative partners and on a standalone basis—including in conjunction with or resulting from various Society programming efforts or multi-faceted initiatives—on core and emerging topics.
Develops, coordinates, and facilitates member–requested and Society-initiated benchmarking surveys and oversees the overall survey process.
Develops, updates, and maintains a Society Director Education Programs listing and other Society publications and resources.
With the SVP & General Counsel, maintains substantive content on Society website practical resource pages to ensure content remains current and relevant.
With the SVP & General Counsel, researches topics in response to member engagement, to support policy and advocacy efforts, and otherwise.
Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Collaborates, influences, and builds strong relationships at all organizational levels and across functions while balancing multiple priorities and projects. Work requires independent problem solving and resolution.
Develops a methodology to measure effectiveness of communications. Analyzes and interprets data, designing approaches to maximize data usage and re-directing engagement and communications approaches in an agile, real-time manner.
Works with members, Society leaders, and colleagues via collaborative engagement planning to support Society mission.
Leadership Responsibilities
Helps represent the Society externally and to source and collaborate with external partners to amplify corporate issuer views and positions on disclosure and regulatory matters.
May assume the principal Society management relationship role with select external partners.
Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience and subject matter expertise with corporate governance, SEC reporting, ESG reporting frameworks and the transition from voluntary to required ESG reporting.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence external stakeholders.
Project management, organizational, and time management skills, including the ability to take initiative, effectively plan work activities, work independently, and prioritize multiple projects and assignments.
Desire and ability to act as a team player and build relationships and effectively plan and facilitate meetings and workgroups.
Education and Experience
College degree required.
Juris Doctorate or other advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in corporate governance, programming, and research.
