This is a full-time position that assumes a 40-hour work week. Salary and title are commensurate with candidate’s experience and competencies.
Telecommuting is allowed.
The NAACOS Director of Membership leads all activities related to establishing and maintaining relationships with accountable care models and industry partners. This position reports to the Senior VP of Operations and works closely with other members of the operations team, as well as the NAACOS CEO, Board of Directors, and government affairs team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit and retain members
Develop and execute a plan to grow the number of members, including not only Medicare ACOs but also value-based care models supported by CMS, employers, and other private payers
Establish relationships with prospective members
Utilize a variety of recruitment tactics such as direct marketing campaigns, relationship building, telemarketing, advertising, and exhibiting at conferences
Work with the board of directors and senior staff to recruit members
Engage staff at member organizations to participate in NAACOS activities such as conference speaking, listserv participation, committee service
Conduct annual membership satisfaction survey and annual membership meeting/webinar
Oversee member benefits
Seek feedback from members on ways to enhance existing benefits and design new ones
Serve as point of contact for member inquiries regarding benefits
Research and develop new benefits
Promote benefits to members and communicate their value
Develop and periodically reassess member/non-member pricing for our products and services
Build relationships with partner network
Recruit and retain industry partners private payers
Develop new and refine existing partner benefits
Leverage partner relationships for sponsorship of NAACOS conferences, webinars, email blasts, and other products
Solicit partners to participate in Boot Camps, ACO Showdown, partner-led webinars, and any other marketing opportunities outside of conferences.
Develop and manage membership budget
Develop annual budget with revenue targets for membership dues, industry sponsorships, and non-member product sales
Monitor monthly accounts receivables; coordinate with team members to ensure prompt payment of invoices and meet monthly budget targets
Project variances in year-end revenue each quarter
Oversee membership marketing coordinator
Manage member and partner data in association management system
Manage social media channels in partnership with the government affairs team to increase awareness of NAACOS offerings and drive traffic to the website
Education and Experience
A minimum of five years' experience in a health care organization or membership association is required. A master's degree in a health-related discipline is preferred as is direct experience with accountable care.
Knowledge of accountable care models and other value-based care payment models
Relationships with ACO and related industry executives, including private payers
Demonstrated knowledge of member relations concepts and practices in an association environment
Sales and marketing expertise, particularly in a health care or association environment
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
Strategic thinking partner with the necessary interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with NAACOS staff, board, and members
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Proficiency in the use of association management systems
