Summary: Provides support to the Education Department in the overall coordination of the department’s operations. Duties include implementation and logistical support for the Society’s Breast and Complex General Surgical Oncology (CGSO) fellowship programs, live meetings and online education activities housed within the organizations’ Learning Management System, ExpertEd, as well as project-based work as directed by team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides support to the Assistant Director, Education with project-based tasks as assigned.
Provides support for Breast and CGSO Fellowship Match cycles.
Schedule site visits for the SSO Breast Fellowship Programs; send and collect necessary documentation for site visits.
Support annual data collection at the beginning and end of the Breast and CGSO fellowship year.
Support development and execution of the fellow’s online educational initiatives, including web-based activities and podcasts.
Provides support to the Chief Learning Officer with project-based tasks as assigned.
Coordinates and implements the following segments/steps of assigned online educational activities including but not limited to virtual tumor boards, webinars, panel discussions and the SSO SurgOnc Today Podcast series:
Planner, moderator, and faculty management
Scheduling of kick-off/planning calls, recordings, and live event
Logistical coordination
Creation and submission of Marketing Brief to Marketing Department
Collection of necessary paperwork for CME activities, i.e., disclosures, planning documents, resolution of conflicts of interest
Creation of activity in ExpertEd and Zoom platform
Facilitation of live online event
Develops online and live initiatives for the SSO’s new 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, including the SSO Women in Cancer Surgery Program.
Collects and processes financial disclosure information for the SSO live events, including but not limited to the SSO Annual Meeting and the Advanced Cancer Therapies Conference; assists with resolution of conflict of interest.
Submit grant requests for the SSO Fellows Institute, Advanced Cancer Therapies Conference, Annual Meeting and other live events.
Collaborates with the SSO Meetings Team to create registration for the Society’s live events, including but not limited to the Fellows Institute, Complex General Surgical Oncology Board Review Course and the Advanced Cancer Therapies Conference.
Completes monthly credit imports into PARS to for all accredited activities to be transferred to the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
Completes ACCME annual PARS submission.
Provides committee/work group support to SSO Chief Learning Officer and other education team members as assigned.
Support preparation of evaluation and outcomes analysis for online and live educational activities.
Develop surveys on Survey Monkey or other survey software.
Provides onsite staff support at the SSO International Conference on Surgical Cancer Care and additional meetings as assigned.
Maintains appropriate interpersonal relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and Society leaders and members.
Utilizes exemplary customer service skills when answering the education department calls and other phone inquiries and emails particularly about educational products and live events.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to schedule simultaneous events such as podcast recordings, webinars, planning calls.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Highly organized with strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
Anticipate problems and volunteer concerns and raise them with the Education Manager.
Ability to work well under pressure/in high-stress situations and maintain professionalism in a dynamic high-profile environment. Flexibly responds to changing needs and priorities.
