Job Summary/General Purpose of Job
Responsible for leading and managing strategy and division/section operations for acquiring and developing content for deployment in various media to include print, electronic, and audio. Collaborates with Business Services management team to assess and grow new product acquisitions and development. Operates as the functional director of a content creation unit within a division or entity.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Functions as a Division or large Section’s principal resources in acquiring and developing meaningful content and collaborating with the Business Services Group on the potential production of such materials. Collaborates with the Business Services Group to assess and grow new product acquisitions and development, including partnering and licensing agreements. Responsible for guiding marketing activity to grow revenues from products and projects which generate income in excess of costs. Manages development of new products and reports acquisitions to relevant member bodies. Functions as the subject matter expert and division/section strategist on acquisitions and growth opportunities. Collaborates with Business Services to assess strengths and weaknesses in overall acquisitions and development to achieve the overall growth and market competitiveness strategies. Collaborates with departments across the association in finding new content integration opportunities and additional revenue channels. Provides regular reporting and analysis of product list successes and risks, trends and developments, and forecasts for future acquisitions. Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. At least five years’ experience in a position or positions responsible for content creation across multiple media including print, electronic, and web-based delivery. Previous experience in assessing, evaluating, and recommending potential subjects/titles for production based upon an assessment of the marketability and sales potential of the subject matter.
Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience
JD from an ABA accredited law school and/or possession of an advanced degree from an accredited college or university. Previous experience managing a team of employees within a content production environment. Previous experience working in a not-for-profit, NGO, and/or Association setting.
Extent of Travel Required in the Job
As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of up to 10% of the time.
