The Treasure Coast Builders Association (TCBA) is a professional association of over 425 members. TCBA represents and protects the interests of the building industry in Florida’s Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties. TCBA is dedicated to Building a Better Tomorrow by serving our members and the community through leadership, advocacy and education. The Executive Director serves as the chief administrative officer, recommends and participates in the formulation of new policies and makes decisions within the bounds of existing policies. In addition, the executive director plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the staff, programs and activities to ensure the association’s goals and objectives are met.
Position Responsibilities:
Informs the Board of Directors on the conditions and operations of the association. Attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and other committees and task forces as appropriate.
Manages the administrative operations of the association and develops specific policies, procedures and programs to execute.
Supervises all staff. Recruits hires, trains, motivates and establishes performance standards and goals for all staff and conducts annual performance reviews.
Directs and coordinates all approved programs, projects and major activities of staff. In addition, provides liaison and staff support to Committees to enable them to perform their assigned functions.
Develops and coordinates legislative, regulatory and political efforts and maintains relationships with government officials and agencies impacting the industry.
College degree or work experience equivalent, administrative and managerial experience, business acumen, events experience, communication and public relations skills.
Must be able to work with people with varying points of view, be politically savvy, and have the ability to build coalitions, internally and externally.
Must be able to develop and maintain key relationships for the association and be available and visible to the public.
Must be willing to attend meetings before and after workday, work long hours during events.
