SUMMARY
The Product Manager, Education Content and Channel Products manages relationships with external education content partners, manages relationships with external channel delivery partners for professional education, works closely with our IIA international affiliates to support international delivery of MC&L products and services, and drives new strategies, innovation and approaches for content partner and channel learning products and services. Expands education offerings through strategic partnerships with content partners, evaluates quality and negotiates contracts and pricing models, manages reporting, and partners with internal teams (e.g. IT, Marketing) to drive delivery, coordinate technology needs and marketing efforts associated with the new content/channel products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with portfolio strategy team to understand new product needs/gaps, and partner with Curriculum Quality and Instructional Design to execute on content or buying decisions to provide new education content including cost/benefit analysis
- Manage evaluation and selection process of vendors for external education content and services partners on various content topics; determine pricing models; coordinate contract development with IIA legal team; coordinate financial processes with IIA Finance team
- Manage evaluation and selection of all external education channel partners; coordinate contract development with IIA legal team; coordinate financial processes with IIA Finance team
- For education content and services purchased from external vendors / organizations, manage all vendor and product quality assessments and manage vendor relationships
- Partner with IIA Operations, IT, Legal and Finance teams for successful delivery of MC&L education content from external content partners to members/customers, as well as for successful delivery of IIA product to education channel partners
- Conduct periodic competitive assessment of content partner and channel partner market segments to evaluate pricing, positioning, product and promotional efforts, as well as assessment of market size and potential; coordinate with IIA Research team
- Manage permissions to use IIA IP across all relevant learning products; coordinate with IIA Legal team for IP protection
- Partner with membership on key customer relationships to review the customer’s internal learning programs as requested
- Leverage education content from education content partners to expand, support and cross promote the suite of MC&L products
- Create and execute project plans and schedules; bring projects in on-time and within budget
- Continuously review the MC&L strategic direction of the product line and propose innovative concepts to drive the successful achievement of goals
- Partner with IIA marketing to share marketing collateral provided by external education content partners; works with IIA marketing on web page feedback associated with the 3rd party vendor products
- Analyzes and reviews product life cycles, gaps in content, and new product opportunities as relevant to education content and education channel partner strategy
- Provides additional support to IIA publication product management as needed
- Assist in evaluation of third-party products to be carried by the IIA bookstore
- Ensure compliance with National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) standards for professional development for any products from external education content partners (for US CPE compliance requirements)
- Manage all agreements with affiliates associated with learning product deliver, including seminars, on-demand, certificates, exam prep products, and publications
- Partner with Finance to ensure appropriate revenue sharing with affiliates based on agreements, including regular reporting and reconciliation with the affiliates
- Update annual agreements with affiliates with input from the IIA Affiliate team and IIA Legal team
- Establish revenue sharing structures where appropriate for affiliates, including consideration for regional differences in volume, pricing and education product needs
- Partner with affiliates to communicate learning products that may meet their member / customer needs; include identifying which products have options for translation or customization to localize the product through local case studies or other details
- Manage reporting associated with the agreements with the affiliates, including what products have been purchased; partner with Finance to manage revenue sharing reports and process
- Coordinate with MC&L Operations to ensure timely delivery of learning products to affiliates
- Create processes to improve awareness of new and existing learning products by affiliates; create processes to get affiliate input on product development to ensure global applicability of learning content
- Drive collaboration with affiliates related to future learning product development
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- Mastery of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with instructional design models and methods.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Project coordination / project management experience is preferred.
- Smartsheet experience is preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Marketing or similar course of study. Five or more years of hands-on experience in product management, project management or a role that supports product revenue. Experience with an international organization is a plus.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret facilitator feedback that will be transformed into meaningful presentations. Ability to write business correspondence and work with IT and other staff professionals is required. A complete command of the English language, including grammar skills. Multiple language ability is an asset in any role with The IIA.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively propose and execute solutions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, mathematical, or diagram form, and create tangible representations of several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Expert ability to work in a computerized environment with a strong knowledge of most Microsoft Office products and Smart Sheets. Must have an aptitude to learn new software tools relating to project and content management.
