This mid- to senior-level position provides wide-ranging support for content development and volunteer leadership management for UPCEA, including but not limited to: supporting the two main volunteer leadership bodies (Regions, Networks) and their deliverables; curating and managing online communities in the association’s member networking platform; creating and supporting an overarching content calendar for the organization, and leading the association’s mentoring initiative from pilot to scalable program. This position reports to the Deputy CEO & Chief Learning Officer.
Responsibilities:
Convene and manage two main volunteer leadership bodies (five Regions and the Regional Cabinet; eight Networks and the Network Senate), and guide the fulfillment of their deliverables such as salons, webinars, chats, etc.
Curate and manage several member networking communities on social media platforms (Open Forum, Alternative Credentials, UPlift Mentoring), by strategically leveraging volunteer resources to engender conversation, learning, and information-sharing across the membership and to deepen member engagement.
Create and manage an overarching content calendar for the organization, which will help to organize, internally, opportunities for learning and promote, externally, all that UPCEA has to offer.
Transform the UPlift mentoring initiative from pilot phase to a scaled, formal program beginning in early 2023, by leveraging and leading an advisory board and emergent partnership w Mentor Collective.
Collaborate with the Deputy CEO & Chief Learning Officer, along with other content experts, with regard to RFP/event content development, as well as helping to support various volunteer leaders engaged in content development.
Collaborate with members of the Learning & Volunteer Engagement (LVE) division on projects ranging from course development to awards conceptualization and new program/event development.
Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams on promotions of Region and Network deliverables.
Attend recurring [virtual] planning and/or volunteer leader meetings as needed/assigned, such as the UPlift advisory board or Region salon planning calls for purpose of representing staff and supporting content development.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
This position is remote. Travel to association-wide events (quarterly) and staff meetings (semi-annually) is expected; occasional travel for smaller meetings may be required. Lastly, as part of a small, dedicated team, other duties as assigned by the Deputy CEO & Chief Learning Officer may be expected.
Candidate must possess:
Superb interpersonal, organizational, and technology skills
Six to eight years of experience in professional, continuing, and/or online higher education
Undergraduate degree
The ideal candidate will also possess experience in one or more of the following:
Leading or managing volunteer leaders
Experience with online networking platforms or association management software
Completion of an advanced or terminal degree
Coursework toward or more of the UPCEA professional development certificates
