The Publishing Division of the American College of Physicians (ACP) is looking for a full-time Sales Operations Manager. ACP, a national organization of internal medicine physicians with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with more than 161,000 members worldwide.
The Sales Operations Manager will lead and optimize institutional sales operations for the Publishing Division’s site licensing sales staff, so staff can quickly identify and respond to sales opportunities. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the sales staff to ensure they meet or exceed sales targets, document opportunities accurately, and follow up on payments
- Identifying and executing strategies for lead generation and sales promotion to maximize site license revenue and drive new business
- Overseeing the development of strategic institutional marketing plans and advertising through various channels to expand Annals reach, increase usage, and drive sales.
- Managing communications and contracts with customer service, finance, subscription agents and third-party vendor for sales support and promotion.
- Defining specifications and desired output for Webi and Salesforce reports
- Tracking, evaluating, and reporting on industry trends, market requirements, customer needs, and competitor developments
The successful candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years of relevant sales operation experience in a publishing environment
- Experience in CRM Systems and Management (Salesforce preferred)
- The ability to write reports for business intelligence applications (Webi a plus), and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, etc.)
- Knowledge of industry standards and reporting for circulation and fulfillment of subscriptions for institutional and group sales products
- Strong supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a sales team to drive performance
