The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking a continuing education professional to oversee all aspects of assigned clinical skills educational offerings, including steering committee staffing, product development and evaluation, budgeting, marketing, and database management. The individual in this role will serve as a liaison to appropriate external organizations on assigned programs, as well as assist with the evaluation, management, and development of new clinical skills training courses, materials, and services.

As part of the Simulation and Clinical Skills Training team at our Chicago suburb headquarters in Itasca, IL, this role has a hybrid working arrangement of 40% on-site. Qualifications needed:
1.  Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. 
2.  At least three years’ related experience in managing continuing education programs required, including collaborating with external constituents, database management, needs assessment, and budget management. Experience supervising staff or serving as a team lead required. Experience with adult education, international initiatives, and working in a professional association strongly preferred. 
3.  Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal,  diplomacy, negotiation, critical thinking, leadership, and project management skills required. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage a budget, coordinate logistical challenges of both domestic and international programs, work both independently and as part of a team, take initiative, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, communicate with cultural sensitivity, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to apply new technologies; knowledge of web editing software (eg, SharePoint), databases, virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx, Teams), and social media platforms preferred. Fluency in foreign language(s) desirable. Domestic and international travel and evening/weekend work required, along with the need for flexibility in arranging work schedule to accommodate program needs.
