TRSA, the association for linen, uniform, and facility services, is seeking a Certification and Accreditation Manager to join its committed, dynamic team. The Certification and Accreditation Manager will assist in efforts relevant to TRSA’s company-wide Clean Green, facility-based Hygienically Clean and individual professional programs. The position is responsible for ensuring that these certification programs are in compliance with best practices in credentialing, and accreditation standards and for ensuring the programs are in compliance with established policies, processes, and procedures.
The Manager supervises one part-time staff, as well as contractors and consultants. The position reports to the Senior Director of Certification and Accreditation.
The Manager of Certification and Accreditation program requires a range of advanced skills to succeed in the role including:
Leadership – Ability to train, mentor and motivate staff in achieving objectives
Communication – Ability to clearly articulate and share information with stakeholders to create and nurture effective communications
Decision-making – Ability to use decision-making techniques to ensure a clear chain of command and cohesive plan of action that appeals to most stakeholders and fulfills the objectives of the certification programs and TRSA
Interpersonal – Ability to identify and solve problems, resolve conflicts, and make fair decisions and communicate them to all stakeholders to build trust and establish open, collaborative communications and decision-making
Manages and oversees process and workflow for certification, recertification and inspection processes, policies and procedures; including communication with a variety of internal and external individuals; identifying issues of concern and provides recommendations to the Senior Director.
Manages certification activities from start to finish, including procedures, milestones, and deadlines.
Maintains a wide variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records (e.g. certificates and/or licenses, performance evaluations, continuing education credits, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines.
Compiles data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of preparing reports, making recommendations, and/or preparing information for assigned administrator.
Monitors and evaluates the performance of staff; gives timely feedback; and recommends personnel actions, such as training, rewarding, and disciplining.
Assists the Senior Director with the certification program subject matter experts (SMEs) for standards development and revisions, inspection programs, exam development, self-study, and professional testing.
Assists in the implementation of strategic three-to-five year strategic and annual operational plans and objectives
Assists in facilitating quarterly meetings (in-person and remote) for certification program committees, advisory groups, task forces and users’ groups to ensure program growth and customer satisfaction.
Submit quarterly reports pertaining to activities, objectives, budget, and other activities
Staying informed on all updated laws and regulations, making sure all company operations are within the scope of those laws
Reviews and maintains accurate records for all certification programs including appeals process; manages and maintains certification and recertification data.
Manages and reviews periodic audits of selected certificate applications.
Provides reports for leadership and others as requested and authorized.
Works collaboratively with other TRSA staff to ensure clarity for all communications and online information for stakeholders. Collaborates with TRSA staff on marketing and other efforts as required, including webinars on the certification process.

Experience and education
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a discipline relevant to certification and/or accreditation.
Three years experience in certification and/or accreditation programs such as those recognized by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) or the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
Familiarity with Association Management Software or Customer Relationship Management Software
Competencies: The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to be self-directed or work within a team setting as the situation requires; be proactive, efficient, effective, and detail-oriented; have excellent problem solving/analytic skills; take pride in being part of a small, collaborative, highly effective team; have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; and have the ability to work and collaborate remotely. The position requires limited overnight travel and the ability to lift 20 pounds at a time depending on TRSA event and exhibition schedule.
