A little bit about this position:
A day in the life for this position could vary each day! However, you will be part of a team to help make our Association the best in our industry. Specifically, the Director of Membership Development creates and manages meaningful business and professional relationships with current and prospective NALP members. They are the driver of recruiting revenues generated from various programs, products, and services through increased awareness of member benefits and offerings.
The Director of Membership Development works in a team environment to achieve membership recruitment, engagement, and retention goals by being part of various membership-related activities.
Build and maintain prospective member list in iMIS database.
Recruit lawn and landscape companies with a primary focus on those with an annual revenue of $2 million and above. Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to encourage engagement with NALP at all levels of the member company.
Partnering with senior staff members and key volunteers, focus on recruiting, retaining, and engagement of the top 150 in the lawn and landscape industry.
Successfully meet and/or exceed recruitment goals set for the Association.
Provide weekly, monthly, and annual progress reports as to the progress made regarding new membership sales & development.
Travel to member and non-member facilities to recruit new members.
Research and provide new ideas for recruitment efforts.
Monitor recruitment touchpoints, work with marketing team to ensure the greatest outreach.
Represent the Association at various industry events and conferences.
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
5-7 years related experience
Strong communication skills
Strong customer service and sales skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite required
Database experience required
Ability to work in an environment of pressure in an organized and professional manner
Ability to Travel 50% of the time
Database experience in iMIS
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or Business preferred
