The OTA Education Program Manager will be responsible for meeting planning and logistical aspects of OTA educational programs, including coordination of courses and labs, online educational resources, webinars, and faculty and committee member communications. This person will assist the Education Committee with a variety of projects, and will participate in committee meetings and conference calls.
In addition, the manager will serve as staff liaison to additional education related committees and project teams as assigned.
Manage assigned meetings/courses
Manage logistical and operational elements of meetings and courses.
Collaborate in developing course marketing and promotional strategies.
Oversee the creation, production, and distribution of course materials, including preliminary and final programs, within budget and timelines.
Supports courses through faculty correspondence, disclosure of interest, presentation gathering, and other follow-up.
Assist faculty with adherence to deadlines.
Assists with maintaining documentation as part of ACCME compliance. In collaboration with the Senior Education Manager & Education Director, coordinate the submission of materials for ACCME review and action; ensure compliance with ACCME rules and regulations.
Create and maintain course evaluation analysis throughout the year and collaborate with leadership in recommendations for future course directions.
Develop and present appropriate reports to course directors; develop and maintain effective communications and relations with leadership.
Develop requests for proposal and prepare comparison grids for review and decision. Prepare specifications for vendor solicitation and contracts as needed.
Manage online educational activities and resources
Collaborate with the OTA Education committee to create the annual webinar schedule; serve as staff liaison to webinar moderators, manage webinar production including coordination of content planning, technology training, and budgeting. Maintains documentation as part of ACCME compliance.
Supports online learning offerings through faculty correspondence, disclosure of interest, presentation gathering, attendee materials and resources, and other follow-up, filing/organizing submitted materials and data entry.
Create and maintain online learning and course evaluation analysis throughout the year and collaborate with leadership in recommendations for future direction.
Assist with management of online educational resources.
Assist with administration and support of the OTA Learning Management System.
Fields phone and emailed inquires to provide customer service related to educational course or CME issue resolution.
This position is an onsite position, the manager will be required to be in the office 2-3 days per week, there is not a fully remote option for this role.
Meeting planning experience, including contract negotiation, budgeting, and event marketing desired.
Proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficient with Zoom. DES certificate a plus.

The Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), is a professional medical association with a mission centered on education and research geared towards improving patient care. The association membership is comprised mainly of orthopaedic trauma surgeons. There are over 1,900 members, and approximately 20 committees. Headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, the staff works in close collaboration with the leadership in implementing, promoting and continuous evaluation of society programs and initiatives.
