Description of duties
Conducts research on the photonics industry to develop timely and insightful analysis and reporting on market and businesstrends. Outputs will include data, presentations, written reports, and roadmaps with a focus on growth markets and applications. Supports long-term strategic developments across SPIE products, increasing SPIE’s relevance to, and engagement with, our industry constituents. Helps drive the creation of new products, programs, and services. Knowledge of the photonics industry, markets, and applications strongly desired.
Education & Experience Requirements
4-year degree with a focus on optics, photonics, or closely related field
5+ years’ experience in photonics or adjacent industry conducting market research, analyzing trends, developing market reports, and communicating results
Experience in developing and delivering effective presentations
Prior involvement in event creation desirable
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation includes: Competitive wage, annual discretionary bonus, defined contribution retirement plan with additional company match and paid-time-off plan beginning at 31 days per year.
