The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is a global association for occupational safety and health professionals. ASSPis looking for a highly motivated and versatile leader to join the team. This full-time position will report to the Chief Executive Officer. We are headquartered in Park Ridge, Illinois.
The Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Business Development, plays a critical role in supporting execution of ASSP’s strategy and Go-to-Market plan. The individual will identify, negotiate, and manage alliances and strategic partnerships that assist the organization in meeting its strategic business objectives, broaden our reach to potential customers, and accelerate our growth within selected relationships.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
Identify, negotiate, and manage organizational partnerships that will broaden ASSP’s market reach and accelerate growth. The priority for this role is to add strategic partnerships (business development 80%) and provide oversight into the development to new lines of business.
Develop plans for identifying, engaging, and maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships or alliances, including the development of all appropriate communications demonstrating the value of potential partnership opportunities.
Responsible for managing relationships with client executives and top decision makers among our strategic account base to grow ASSP’s customer offering beyond current products and services.
This person will lead thinking on new business models and drive joint business development between ASSP and its partners in this space. The incumbent will lead development of new markets and new lines of business, and in addition, work with other leaders to expand current lines of business with expanded partnership and strategic alliances.
Accountable for leading sales team to achieve all corporate revenue targets for both ASSP and the ASSP Foundation via excellent investor journeys. Guide Investor Relations / Sales team operational excellence, process, pipeline, reporting; Meet with top investors to understand needs and guide decisions.
Partner with all program leads to understand current value delivery and develop new value delivery.
Bachelor’s Degree and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification required
Minimum of 15 years of experience growing, leading, and developing global, safety-related business organizations. This should include experience selling to C level decision makers.
Proven ability in managing strategic partnership programs required.
Experience working with companies to deploy corporate safety solutions preferred.
Self-motivated, action oriented, analytical and strategic thinker who can roll up sleeves in getting things done in a shifting market. Ability to drive strategic direction.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills working with internal and external stakeholders.
