FPA seeks a Director of Marketing to lead the strategic marketing direction of all FPA programs, events and initiatives and spearhead the implementation and execution of a marketing agency model in which internal departments and stakeholders are consulted with and serviced as clients. The Director of Marketing is a self-starter and team player with as much enthusiasm for high level strategy as for tactical production, project management and delighting members, prospects and internal FPA clients with exceptional experiences. The individual hired will be a member of the Communications Team and will report to the Chief Communications Officer.
The successful candidate is analytical, a critical thinker and problem-solver, as well as an extraordinary communicator who possesses strong skills in leadership, marketing strategy and planning, data analysis and reporting, copywriting, and working familiarity with the digital marketing spectrum from email and social media marketing to website design and editing, Google Analytics, SEO and SEM.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (in addition to those summarized above)
Oversee and lead the strategy and operations of the Association’s daily marketing activities
Develop and manage the marketing budget
Manage a team of up to a couple direct reports
Shape user experiences and customer/member journeys
Consistently monitor key metrics and identify actionable insights
Lead martech stack assessments and recommendations
Collaborate with IT to map user paths / establish tracking and problem-solve potential user pathing challenges
Partake in campaign production and other tactical marketing and communication functions as needed, including copywriting and creative development
FPA’s Central Office is located in Denver, Colorado. Staff members are currently working remotely due to COVID-19 but we anticipate a gradual safe return to the office in the coming months.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, strategic communications or related field
Eight+ years of digital marketing and communications experience, prior leadership experience a plus
Knowledgeable in marketing automation, email marketing, social media marketing, website design, Google Analytics, SEO, SEM
Ability to prioritize, delegate, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well in a fast-paced environment
Ability to meld strategic thinking with tactical skills in execution and distribution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and results-driven
Familiarity with the financial services industry and/or association landscape a plus
