WHAT THE MEMBERSHIP ASSOCIATE DOES As part of the ASPS Membership department, this position requires a self-disciplined, flexible, adaptable, service-oriented individual with strong writing skills, interpersonal skills, eye for detail and a marketing acumen to focus on domestic (U.S. and Canada) membership recruitment, retention and engagement strategies with some overlap into global membership. Responsible for logistical planning and execution of activities expanding ASPS/PSF domestic membership initiatives, focusing on residents Provides services to members, participates in U.S. society meetings and facilitates the application process for all membership categories, with direct responsibility for domestic markets. Interacts with multiple ASPS departments specifically with the Member Services Center (MSC), the Executive Office, Industry Relations, Marketing, IT, Education and Meetings staff. Attends Annual Meeting and other ASPS meetings and symposia to help support programs, committees and facilitate recruitment and retention of ASPS members. Additionally, the Membership Associate serves as ASPS primary staff liaison to several ASPS/PSF committees, which include: Residents Council, Visiting Professors (VP), Volunteers in Plastic Surgery (VIPS), medical students and new and upcoming membership initiatives and committees. This requires participation in and coordinating committee meetings, managing budgets and representing ASPS at plastic surgery conferences, symposia and other events (such as National Medical Students Day). ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Responsible for the planning and implementation of communication and marketing campaigns to increase membership and member retention for targeted segments, focusing on Fellows, Senior Residents, Residents, Medical Students and Affiliate members.
- Serves as the committee liaison to: Residents Council, Visiting Professors (VP), Volunteers in Plastic Surgery (VIPS), medical students and new and upcoming membership initiatives and committees.
- Develops and implements strategies for increasing resident recruitment. Coordinates resident engagement and cultivates relationship to facilitate transition from resident to candidate when appropriate.
- Liaisons with MSC on membership processes, data quality projects (Aptify), including development of special views in database (Aptify).
- Manages booth space at meetings/conferences including Travelling Exhibits and PSTM . Plans and implements pre-event marketing to increase visibility and attendance. Works with external departments and partners to assure marketing goals are met.
- Creates quantitative analysis and dashboards of membership statistics and reports using Aptify.
- Develops web content for membership-related pages on www.plasticsurgery.org, working closely with Communications on design and production.
- Collaborates with the Marketing team on design and production of the membership marketing collateral such as membership kit, residents kit, senior resident mailings, ASPS special offerings and ASPS booth display and booth materials.
- Develops and coordinates ongoing social media campaigns within targeted member segments for recruitment and member engagement.
- Develops member needs assessments (surveys) for potential products and services.
- This position requires domestic travel (5-6 times per year).
