AOC is looking for a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Web & Digital Marketing Specialist to support the successful operation of our marketing and communications strategy. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic team environment, enjoy problem-solving, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. As a key player on our team, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the overall content and quality of AOC's websites, including project planning and implementation for related initiatives, regular review of all content, processes for updating content, and assisting in identifying content update needs.
Build and manage email marketing campaigns using Informz and providing campaign analytics.
Create and track content for social media using Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Must be able to write engaging promotional copy for various audiences and repurpose it across multiple communications formats (i.e., eNewsletters, social media, print, video, etc.).
Maintain AOC's website and coordinate content updates. Work with all departments to ensure AOC websites are up-to-date, consistent, and functioning properly. Use Google Analytics to identify trends in traffic and utilized content.
Act as a contact with web-service providers to identify and address any technical issues that arise.
Ensure communications uphold AOC's messaging, tone, style, and branding guidelines.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in communications or related field
Three or more years of work-related experience in digital/web marketing content.
Previous work in an association environment is preferred.
Exceptional project coordination and time management skills; able to perform in a deadline-oriented environment and manage multiple projects at one time
Superior written and oral communication skills with the ability to maintain attention to detail, consistency, and grammar
A positive attitude, working well independently and in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience developing web content strategy and familiarity with web content management systems (expert knowledge of HTML and CSS required).
Experience working with YM preferred.
Experience working with Google Analytics.
Experience working with Informz or similar email management systems required.
Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AOC staff are currently working remotely but are expected to work in the Alexandria office when returning to an office is deemed safe.
