The Water Environment Federation (WEF) is seeking a Biosolids Coordinator to join the Water Science and Engineering Center (WSEC) team. This position conducts regular review and provides updates to WEF’s membership Association Management System (AMS) regarding technical committee members. Provides staff liaison support to the Residuals and Biosolids Committee (RBC) and other technical committees. Provides a variety of administrative support to the WSEC and Technical Educational Program activities and events, including updates to WEFCOM, as well as fielding customer inquiries directed to WEFCOM.
Principal Functions:
Identifies and serves as the national coordinator for media tracking responses related to public coverage of biosolids. These can include negative coverage, but also positive stories and developments that can be amplified. This work will be in collaboration with WEF communications staff, as needed.
Assists the members with maintaining and keeping relevant the biosolidsresources.org website and a public facing website informing the web-browsing public with science-based information on biosolids, associated benefits, case studies, and status/results of ongoing, relevant research.
Assists RBC Leadership with maintaining collaborative relationships with WEF’s Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Biosolids Organizations (RBOs)
Plays a direct role in RBC Committee Plan objectives relating to biosolids use and advocacy.
Highlights successful member biosolids programs through various WEF and Member Association channels.
Maintains technical committee membership updates in AMS – adds and edits new committee members, creates subcommittees and task forces, when applicable.
Maintains WEFCOM – posting announcements and discussions for RBC and technical committees, and fields WEFCOM email inquiries.
Provides technical committee welcome package and membership instructions to new members.
Schedules, plans, and participates with RBC leaders on virtual and in-person meetings
Organizes workshop training and webcasts for CLC and staff liaisons
Updates and maintains technical committee website pages/updates
Works with supervisor on guidelines for annual budget
Maintains wef.org committee webpages, resources, chair contact information and committee activities, projects, and announcements.
Other duties as assigned to assist WSEC staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred or 4+ years relevant experience.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Detail oriented and accurate with excellent organizational skills, people management and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify and react to potential problems, and meet deadlines.
Strong customer service skills; experience working with technical groups preferred.
Strong written and verbal skills.
