Position Summary The Instructor Development Lead will be charged with leading initiatives that ensure (ISC)2 instructors are properly prepared to deliver certification education programs via live and online. Directly responsible for the overall management of (ISC)2’s instructor program including instructor onboarding, continuing development through training, evaluation, coaching and problem resolution.
Serve as liaison for (ISC)2’s global instructor base, delivering training in-person and online.
Manage the instructor onboarding process in order to ensure that instructors understand and follow policies and procedures and are fully prepared to deliver course materials in accordance with (ISC)2 standards.
Ensure instructor training curriculum is updated, relevant and effective to support the quality delivery of (ISC)2’s curriculum.
Ensure instructors understand online delivery tools (where applicable), content/curriculum changes, course materials and proper classroom management by developing and conducting appropriate training programs.
Serve as main point of contact for all instructors including providing support with issues that arise while teaching around the world.
Conduct pre-class readiness sessions with all instructors across all modalities one week prior to start of every class.
Lead all communication efforts with instructors to ensure they are aware of all relevant changes, and initiatives that impact their success in the classroom. Includes coordinating quarterly virtual summits, monthly virtual group, e-newsletters, email communications and instructor group on (ISC)2 community.
Administer the annual instructor evaluation process to effectively assess performance, provide coaching/support, and take corrective action as needed.
Administer an effective and purposeful mentorship program leveraging seasoned instructors as coaches and advisors for less experienced and new instructors .
Serve as liaison for the instructor advisory board ensuring the identification and progress towards specific outcomes that support enhancing (ISC)2 ‘s instructor program.
Proactively identify, mitigate, communicate, seek advice, and escalate potential problems that impact the delivery of courses.
Collaborate and communicate with the curriculum and production teams.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required Education, Learning and Development, Information Technology or related field, Master’s degree a plus.
7+ years’ experience managing and implementing training and education programs, including instructor management and development
Global instructor management and development preferred.
Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate and manage individuals with diverse backgrounds, cultures, learning styles and expertise.
At least 3 years’ experience with proven success in training others including adapting training to specific needs of the learner.
Experience working within cross functional teams and establishing/maintaining cooperative productive working relationships.
Experience in communicating effectively and orally to a variety of audiences.
Intermediate level knowledge with learning management systems (LMS), customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and other backend systems that support an education business.
Knowledge in cybersecurity preferred.
4 - Year Degree Required / Masters Preferred
