IASA is a non-profit, education association that strives to enhance the knowledge of insurance professionals, and participants from similar organizations closely allied with the insurance industry by facilitating the exchange of ideas and information. IASA is one of the insurance industry's largest, and most well represented trade associations.
The Director of Membership is responsible for planning, writing, designing, and executing integrated strategies to grow membership. Goals include but are not limited to increasing number of new members, increasing retention, and building a strong prospect database.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create and aggressively implement a membership engagement and development strategy and plan; develop and manage budget and resources according to plan.
Works closely with Director of Marketing to develop customized membership solutions that engage and increase participation.
Directs the development, coordination, and management of membership projects, programs and activities and provides leadership and direction for membership growth and effectiveness.
Develops data-driven strategies to grow membership; collects and analyzes data from a variety of sources to develop member-focused programs; directs membership retention/recruitment acquisitions efforts, on a timely basis.
Develops and implements new membership procedures as needed.
Primary contact for all IASA members. Responsible for customer service of IASA members via phone and email communications.
Establishes, files, and maintains records of new and current members.
Manages day to day maintenance of membership database records including routine cleanup of inaccurate and dormant records.
Manages profile update project prior to membership billing period.
Manages membership billing process, including updating of company information
Manage cancelled member process
Update and maintain associated membership web pages.
Participates in production of Annual Report publication.
Manages the reporting of textbook sales
Process and ship bulk textbook orders from various vendors/customers.
At least five years of management experience, three of which must have included supervising projects and team activities.
Non-Profit Association experience
A proven record of hands-on implementation of successful membership programs and member benefit analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; Master of Business Administration desired
Must possess strong computer skills and experience association management software
Must be accurate and attentive to detail
Self-starter, resourceful and comfortable working in a small team environment where both daily interaction and self-sufficiency are essential
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Must have excellent communication and public relations abilities
Able to problem-solve in new and difficult situations
Must be willing to travel
Must be willing to endure flexible schedule
